Wanting to know other schipperke parents
Hello,
I would like to introduce my self. My name is Donna and I live in Georgia,USA. I've own 2 schipps now I recieved one from the shelter here in town, female, sweet as a button (now) she is 7 years this year. And another male I recieved in Fla. as a free to good home, he is 9 now. He still is a turd but we love him. The two get along as if they are married. Both spay & nutered.

Since I have my last two schippers my youngest daughter has one, living in northern AL. And my father, a truck driver, his is also a rescue and she travels the country with him. They are impossible to part. Dad calls her his chick magnet. Jokenly of course.

I'm in my 40's and fine they can drive me crazy. But I couldn't see living without them. I've loved this breed since the mid 80's. When bought my first one from a pet shop in southern FL.

Would love to hear from other schipperke fans. And hear your stories.

wildjinx@gmail.com Thank you, Donna

Re: Wanting to know other schipperke parents
Dear Donna,

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Jo and my Schipperke, Cato. Cato of course is the subject of my emai, he would have it no other way!

Cato is a 7yr old male, full of himself and an attitude to match. He can be the most loving, sweet little guy who has ever worn a black fur coat and then again he can be the terror who stalks the bathroom linen closet, hunting for the 24 pack of charmin to well, assist him in expressing his "artistic" side by decorating the upstairs hall way with the special "snow"...so festive!!

Cato shares his home with our tabby cat Cleo (short for Cleocatra)..and while they have lived in the same house for 5 years, Cato always seems surprized almost bordering on shock when he encounters her in any room of the house..he also, treats her with the greatest of indifference..as if to say, "I don't know what you are, who you are and since you do not smell like food, I am not interested in you and I am therfore going to walk on you to get to my toys..

I love my little guy. He is my best bud and while like you said, there are days when you do find your patience with the little black-eyed devil(s) runs a little thin, I still would not trade one ridiculous, head shaking (usually in dis-belief) laugh-out-loud moment with my little Cato...a menace yes, but a friend too!!

Cato also wanted to send you the Schipperke Property Laws:(will make life easier for you when living with Schipperkes)

Schipperke Property Laws:

1) If I like it, it's Mine.
2) If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3) If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
4) If I can take it from you, it's mine.
5) If it's mine, it must never be yours.
6) If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
7) If I saw it first, It's mine.
8) If you are playing with something else and put it down,it's mine.
9) If I am chewing something up, all of the peices are mine.
10)If it used to be yours, get over it.
11)If it's broken, it's yours.

Words to live by to be sure!! Happy Holidays to your and your Schippies..from Jo and Cato in Virginia....
